Epiphone Spirit II 1982 Vintage Sunburst, Kalamazoo USA
£1549.00
A rare and fascinating piece of Gibson/Epiphone history. The Epiphone Spirit II was built in the USA by Gibson at the legendary Kalamazoo, Michigan factory, during the brief period in the early 1980s when Gibson revived American production under the Epiphone name.
This particularly attractive 1982 Spirit II features a beautifully figured maple top with a rich Vintage Sunburst finish, double body binding and twin Seymour Duncan Antiquity PAF humbuckers. Essentially a Gibson-built instrument wearing an Epiphone badge, these early Spirits were subsequently rebranded and sold as Gibson Spirits, making the original Epiphone examples particularly interesting and increasingly collectible.
The guitar displays honest playwear and ageing appropriate to its 44 years, giving it plenty of vintage character. During its life, it has been upgraded with an ABR-1 bridge and Seymour Duncan Antiquity PAFs, enhancing both playability and tone while preserving its authentic vintage character.
