Beautiful 1969 Gibson ES-335 finished in Cherry Red.
An excellent original vintage example of a late 1960s Gibson ES-335. The guitar presents very well for its age with a striking Cherry Red finish and remains original throughout. There are a few cosmetic marks and some minor touch-ups in places, but overall it is an extremely clean and well-preserved vintage instrument. No breaks, cracks or repairs.
This example exhibits key features identifying it as a pre-Norlin-era Gibson transition instrument, including a correct 1969 serial number and potentiometer codes dating to 1969. It also features no “Made in USA” stamp and a very small transitional volute, along with a one-piece mahogany neck.
It delivers exactly what you’d expect from a late-’60s ES-335 with clarity and sustain. The frets are quite low, consistent with originality, but the guitar still plays well.
