1964 Fender Telecaster – Rosewood Fingerboard
£24495.00
We are excited to offer for sale this stunning and exceptionally rare early-’60s Fender Telecaster, retaining its original finish, hardware and electronics, together with its original hard case and original ashtray bridge cover.
The neck is dated December 1963, while the pots date to January 1964, making this officially a 1964 Telecaster built to late-1963 specification. The serial number L40184 also corresponds to 1964. It has been well used during its 62 years and bears all the signs of battle scars, playwear and ageing, in all the right places. Structurally it is solid with no signs of cracks, breaks or repairs confirmed by UV backlight.
Early Telecasters with rosewood fingerboards are highly sought after, and finding an example this complete and original is increasingly difficult. The guitar has been refretted, with plenty of life remaining in the current frets. Importantly, the original frets have been retained and are included in the sale.
It has had a full professional setup and plays beautifully. Very lightweight at 3.25 kg (7.2 lb)
Sale includes:
Original hard case
Original ashtray bridge cover
Original frets
This is a rare opportunity to acquire an exceptionally complete, original early-’60s Telecaster with the desirable late-1963 specification and rosewood fingerboard.
