1969 Gibson J-45 Deluxe Sunburst
£3095.00
1969 Gibson J-45 finished in Sunburst.
A wonderful late-1969 example from the first year of the wider-shouldered J-45 design, the shape that would later become synonymous with the dreadnought-style J-45. This guitar has clearly been well loved and regularly played throughout its life, resulting in the rich, mature tone that only a great vintage Gibson acoustic can deliver.
The guitar is in good vintage condition throughout, showing the honest finish checking, marks, dings and scratches you would expect from a well-played and cherished 1960s instrument. In our view, this is exactly how a vintage Gibson should look. The wear is purely cosmetic and does not affect playability in any way.
The guitar has benefited from a professional refret by Andy Gibson in 2021 and plays beautifully with a comfortable low action. Tonally it is exceptionally well balanced. A superb everyday player with all the character and resonance you would hope for from a vintage J-45.
The original tuners were replaced with Schaller tuners in the late 1970s. Otherwise, the guitar remains a fantastic and highly usable vintage acoustic.
Sale includes a vintage hard case.
